The City of Craig is accepting bids for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Handrail Replacement Project. Bids will be due at the Council Chambers at City Hall, 300 West Fourth Street, Craig, Colorado 81625 at 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 22, 2020 at which time they will be opened and read aloud. Award of bid will be at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, October 27, 2020. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 1:00 PM. Interested Bidders shall meet at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, 2301 West 1st Street, Craig, Colorado 81625.

No bid shall be withdrawn after opening the bid without the consent of the City of Craig for a period of 30 days after the scheduled time for opening of the bids. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive irregularity in the bids and in the bidding, and to award a Contract as they deem is in their best interest.

The bids must be completely filled out on the bid form provided. Bids shall be addressed to the City of Craig and shall have the name of the bidder and "Wastewater Treatment Plant Handrail Replacement Project" written thereon.

The project generally consists of the following:
Removal and replacement of existing aluminum handrail, safety gates, safety chains and connections with fabricated 304 stainless steel handrail, safety gates, safety chains and connections. All sections of handrail are exterior. All handrail at the facility is to be replaced in a phased approach. The first phase will occur in 2020 and will focus on the Pretreatment and Control Building.

All bids must be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Bids will only be accepted from qualified contractors that have demonstrated experience in construction projects of this type. A Bid Bond, in the amount of 5% will be required and must accompany the bid. Performance and Payment Bonds will be required upon contract award.
